Lauren has been an avid observer of nature in watercolor throughout her career of scientific observation and teaching. She is attracted to compositions with exuberant variations in shape, color, texture and pattern. At the same time, her compositions are sparsely populated to create a serene visual world.
Over the last decade, Lauren has done a number of commissions for both for individuals and organizations; this marks her tenth year creating an image that forms the focal point of the Delaware Museum of Natural History’s annual du Pont Trophy award to citizen scientist exhibits in shell shows around the country.
